Advocacy work on fossil fuel collaborations in academia

Description

We initiated a university-wide conversation on the collaborations between universities and the fossil fuel industry. We brought together a large diversity of stakeholders in multiple panel discussions and meetings. We collated evidence-based argumentation from the fields of environmental and climate sciences, law, social sciences, and societal movements.

This work led to a decision to stop collaborations with the fossil fuel industry. This decision was made in a highly inclusive way leading to broad support.

This result reverberated to other Dutch universities and internationally.
