Drawing on space criminology and Freudian psychoanalytic sociology, this presentation argued how human expansion into outer space could be driven by stardeath, or Astrothanatos, and the risks this poses if left unaddressed. It also discussed the possibility of an Astro-Eros, or starlife drive, as a possible antidote, one that could make us see and treat celestial bodies and systems as having their own identities, much like forests, rivers and other Earthly ecosystems. It is, to a certain degree, an implicit claim to care and nurturing.
