The anthology Forced Migrants in Nordic Histories (Helsinki University Press, 2025), which includes my chapter “Re-membering home in space and time from Chilean exile in Gothenburg”, was awarded the Nordic History Book Award 2025 at the 31st Congress of Nordic Historians in Reykjavík.
The award committee praised the book for its genuinely Nordic scope, its pioneering comparative approach to the history of forced migration, and its high scholarly quality. Bringing together 14 chapters by 23 researchers, the anthology offers the first comparative overview of inclusion and exclusion of forced migrants in Nordic historiography, while highlighting the transnational nature of these histories.
