Now that the 21st century is well under way, the organ culture operates several, quite different paradigms. Some of them are based on appropriation: some musicians identify the organ as a church instrument, others as a concert instrument for classical music, and yet others believe these two frame the organ in a jacket that appears a bit too tight. How to negotiate common grounds, advocating diversity and inclusivity, in order to provide a basis that affords the organ to claim its rightful place in 21st century cultures? Could the organ perhaps even be a tool bringing people together (back) onsite instead of leaving them online?
