Research description The three main research lines are 1) Instant Pathology to translate higher harmonic imaging microscopy into the clinic for intra-operative inspection of biopsies and excised tissue. This research line led to the startup company Flash Pathology B.V. and involves collaborations with several clinical groups in the Amsterdam UMC, the Prinses Maxima Centre Utrecht and the RadboudUMC in Nijmegen; 2) The study of the relation between 3D microstructure and function of skin. 3) The study of dynamic morphological processes in the context of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, in acute tissue slices.
