Dal colon al cervello siamo pieni di plastica

Press/Media: Expert Comment

Description

‘We have found particles of plastics in 64 out of 68 samples
of blood that we examined, with concentrations of up to 2.5
micrograms per millilitre (proportion equivalent to one teaspoon of plastic in a thousand litres of liquid): the concentration is low, but is a wake-up call,’ explains Marja Lamoree, professor of chemistry at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. ‘The plastics we have found most are polyethylene (PE), both simple and terephthalate (PET), polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA)'.
