    DescriptionWhen Dutch political scientist Professor Andre Krouwel accused a political party of "gaming" a 2005 online Voting Advice Application (VAA) in The Netherlands, he was challenged to redefine such tools to: "avoid manipulation and lying by spin-doctors and their bosses!" A noble goal.

    Ultimately, he invented a tool built on partnerships with academics and news organisations – a tool designed to resist political manipulation and boost accountability and transparency through greater scrutiny of policies.
