You will also demonstrate your grammatical competence in English and will be able to deliver convincing oral presentations. Objectives:You are able to apply certain norms of standard written English which are assumed in contexts of formal language use.You are able to analyze structural and linguistic features of selected genres of oral presentations and written texts.You understand what the key differences are between spoken and written language use and you are able to use this understanding to compose written texts and oral presentations.You are able to effectively apply prosodic features, conversational patterns, and gestures to communicate your message.You are able to structure your presentations for maximum clarity and impact and you are able to design effective slides.You are able to provide concrete feedback to your peers and implement feedback you have received.You are aware of your strengths, talents, and interests and you are able to reflect on your study programThe course consists of three components: (a) presenting (b) grammar (c) writing4 hours in-class meetings per weekGrammar Test: 40 % (80% correct for a pass) (Objective 1) Oral Presentation : 40 % (pass required) (Objectives 2-6) Writing: 20 % (pass required) (Objectives 1-3, 6) Drafts, homework exercises, and peer reviews: pass/fail (Objectives 1-7)Will be providedThird year students of CIS track English Language and Communication Studies, exchange students.
