Course Objective

Na afronding van deze module:heeft de student een globaal overzicht over het ontstaan, de geschiedenis van het vak Bijbelse Theologie en hoe zij zich verhoudt tot de exegese en dogmatiek;is hij in hoofdlijnen bekend met de vakliteratuur en belangrijkste theologische tijdschriften;is hij in staat om: de verhouding tussen het Oude en Nieuwe Testament helder te omschrijven en Bijbel-theologische problemen te benoemen, enis hij op de hoogte van de wijze waarop het Nieuwe Testament het Oude Testament, in het bijzonder Psalmen, gebruikt en welke bijdrage het Oude Testament geleverd heeft aan het formuleren van theologische thema’s in het Nieuwe Testament, met name het onderwerp: de christologie.

Course Content

Na een inleidend college het ontstaan en de geschiedenis van de discipline Bijbelse Theologie concentreert het vervolg van de colleges zich op een van de brandpunten in de Bijbelse Theologie: de verhouding tussen het Oude en Nieuwe Testament en alle daarmee samenhangende vragen. Een van die vragen is de wijze waarop het Nieuwe Testament het Oude Testament citeert. Aan de hand van citaten, allusies en motieven ontleend aan Psalmen in Handelingen en Hebreeën wordt deze vraag verder uitgediept. Tijdens de colleges worden aan de hand van verwijzingen naar Psalmen in het Nieuwe Testament verschillende factoren belicht die de wijze hebben beïnvloed waarop nieuwtestamentische schrijvers het Oude Testament in hun geschriften verwerken. Ten slotte wordt nagegaan welke inhoudelijke bijdrage Psalmen heeft geleverd bij het formuleren van de nieuwtestamentische christologie in Hebreeën.

Method of Assessment

- Schriftelijk tentamen over collegedictaat, selectie van gebruikte literatuur ter voorbereiding op de colleges en opgegeven tentamenstof.
- Paper [Note: De student schrijft een paper over een psalm-citaat in het Nieuwe Testament.] Het gemiddelde van de paper en het schriftelijk tentamen vormt het eindcijfer.
