Course Objective

The student knows and understands the basic principles, diagnostic procedures and treatment options regarding the medical specializations a dentist, specialized in Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction, will cooperate with. These specializations are for example anaesthesiology, ENT, neurology, oral surgery, rheumatology, etc.

Course Content

The student preferably will visit several clinics during several moments in the three year curriculum in order to obtain a broad impression of multiple specializations. The internship can take place in hospitals in the Amsterdam area, which whom the ACTA Clinic for Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction work with. These are for example the UMC Amsterdam, the OLVG Hospital or the SBT. On the other hand, students can run their internship elsewhere, for example in their own neighbourhood, in any hospital or Centre for Special Dental Care that is willing to host the student.

essay with reflection of the internships, regarding all Competences covered according to the General Educational Framework Dentistry 2020, (grade: good / pass / fail)
