Course Objective

Develop a deep understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including the main players and their business models. (Academic and Research Skills)Understand the importance of information asymmetries between entrepreneurs and investors and their effect on financing. (Academic and Research Skills)Learn about different early stage investors, including venture capitalists, angel investors, and incubators, and their role in supporting early stage ventures at different stages of the venture's life cycles. (Bridging Theory and Practice)Understand potential conflicts of interest between entrepreneurs, early stage investors, and the ultimate benefitial investors and how they shape the financing and investor overshight of start-ups. (Bridging Theory and Practice)Critically evaluate and place entrepreneurship in its wider context, including the role of geography, economic factors, and regulation in shaping entrepreneurial opportunities and outcomes.
