Course Objective

The aim of the MA thesis colloquium in History is to support students in writing their thesis and graduating on time. During the colloquium, they will present their plans, peer review each other’s work, and share research experiences. The feedback allows them to improve their work.

Course Content

The MA-colloquium consists of three meetings. During the first meeting students present their topic, planning and contract. During the second meeting students present their introduction and research question and receive feedback from fellow students. During the third meeting students will present a preliminary version of (a substantial part of) their thesis and receive feedback from a lecturer who is not involved as their supervisor. If you follow the ‘regular’ trajectory (see MA programme) you will start with your thesis and the MA-colloquium in semester 2. In exceptional cases, and in consultation with program director and study advisor a thesis track can be followed as of September of the following academic year. You need to have obtained 24 EC before you may start with your thesis.
