Course Objective

students learn interdisciplinary debates in medical anthropology and identify links between medical sciences, health care and social sciences.
Students critically appraise the concept of body, health and illness
Students identify the relevance of ethnographic techniques in researching medicine, health, and illness
Students will be able to critically assess links between history, politics and bodies
Students demonstrate entanglement of body and mind through synthesizing theory, empirical evidence, illness narratives and reflexivity
Students learn coloniality is replicated through bodies and decolonization is the practice of liberation
