Course Objective

The main goal is gaining experience in giving a scientific presentation to a life audience. Other goals:getting to know the diversity of (possible research projects in) human movement sciencesacquiring a healthy professional academic attitudegetting ideas for one’s own research projectobserve and learn from presentations by fellow studentslearn to ask questions and engage in a scientific discussion

Course Content

Presentations by Master students Human Movement Sciences and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Sciences about their Master Research Project.

Seminars

Method of Assessment

No EC credits are given for seminar attendance. However, students should attend a minimum of 12 seminars. If a student has not attended 12 seminars he or she will not receive the Masters degree. In that case he or she should make an additional assignment, which has a volume related to the number of seminars missed. It is possible to start attending seminars during the Bachelor. Note that the presentation of the research report is part of (the assessment of) the Master Research Project.

Target Audience

Master and pre-master students Human Movement Sciences (HMS) and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Sciences (MPS). It is allowed to start attending seminars during the Bachelor Human Movement Sciences.

Custom Course Registration

Seminars take place during the entire year. Students can decide which Seminar to attend, as long as they attend a minimum of 12 Seminars in total (this can even be across several years). There is no need to register in advance. The coordinator will register student attendance. Students may present their own research once it has been approved as sufficient by their supervisor(s). After approval by the supervisor(s), the student can select a presentation date on Canvas.
