Students will assess how their personal strengths and preferences match with academic and professional career paths.Students will formulate personal learning goals related to their academic and professional career paths. They will create plans to achieve these goals and execute them.The goal is to develop and discuss the student’s academic skills, study perspectives and career perspectives, including academic writing skills. Students are encouraged to think of their ideal study path, thinking about electives, minors, internships and possible masters. Lecturers/tutors and academic advisors will supervise the students and provide information. In this second year the students are more independently developing their academic skills within the regular courses, but they are still able to contact their tutors and advisors, for example with questions about study choices. Students are encouraged to interview a professional in the biomedical sciences field, visit a lab or life-science company and are invited to the internship symposium where all third-year students present the results of their internships. We also provide information and requirements for minors, internships and masters that can be followed during and after this study.Lectures Workgroups Individual portfolio discussions Academic writing assignments (in cooperation/simultaneous with the compulsory second-year courses Medical Pharmacology and Oncology).Attendance requirements need to be fulfilled in order to pass the course, including active participation in the portfolio discussions and the academic writing assignments.
