Course Objective

To familiarise the student with major works and handbooks of descriptive and typological linguistics.

Course Content

Guided reading of major works and handbooks in the fields of descriptive and typological linguistics.

Teaching Methods

Tutorial; number of meetings per period to be decided upon by student and supervisor.

Method of Assessment

Essay and/or assignments and/or portfolio, to be decided upon by student and supervisor.

Target Audience

Master's students in Linguistics (specialisation Language Description and Comparative Linguistics), Research Master's students in Humanities (specialisation Linguistics).

Additional Information

This option is only available if elective modules chosen by students of the master Linguistics are cancelled or co-incide with modules of the obligatory program.
