We used discrete choice experiments (DCEs) to estimate patients’ preferences. In a DCE, respondents are presented with several hypothetical scenarios (choice sets) consisting of two or more alternatives that are systematically constructed by varying attributes across given levels. The breast cancer questionnaire was completed by 84 respondents and the colon cancer questionnaire was completed by 145 respondents. The respondents were anonyme patients recruited through the Dutch Patients Consumers organization (Nederlandse Patienten consumenten federatie).
