Supplemental Information: Two cores were taken next to wooden boardwalks of a Department of Forests bird watching station in the northern margin of the lake. A tall grass swamp (Negya Marsh) extends ca 7 km north of the lake, and the core was taken on the centre line of the lake, distant from any sources of terrestrial sediment. Water depth (including sloppy muds and vegetable debris) at the time of coring was 130 cm.
