Ad Tervoort (Alkmaar, The Netherlands 1968) is an assistant professor of Medieval History and specialises in the history of education, both universities and schools, of the the medieval and early modern period. He is interested in the intellectual, social, cultural and religious aspects of these institutions and the people working in them. Additionally, he takes a serious interest in the system of social care of the later Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period.
I am involved in most teaching concerning the medieval period. I coordinate the first year course on European History 500-1815, as well as a number of courses in the minor on European History 1200-1800. Furthermore, I coordinate a master's course on the Long History of the European Reformation.
