Alexander Gorgijevski is Assistant Professor of International Strategy at the Department of Management and Organisation at VU Amsterdam and Associated Researcher at the International Business Group of the Department of Business Studies, Uppsala University, Sweden.

Alexander received his PhD from Uppsala University, Sweden in 2021. During his PhD studies, he was also a visiting doctoral researcher at WU Wien, Austria.

Research

Alexanders research lies at the intersection of international strategy and corporate entrepreneurship, particularly his special focus is on the development and selection of subsidiary initiatives in multinational corporations. Investigating e.g. the role of a subsidiary’s bases of power within the corporation and success of managerial initiative-selling.

Methods: FsQCA, quantitative (LISREL-SEM, regressions) and qualitative (interviews).

Teaching

Alexander has experience from teaching over a broad spectrum of courses in English and Swedish with topics ranging from organization studies, international management, marketing as well as basic accounting.
