Ana Isabel Lopes is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication Sciences, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She has a PhD (2018-2021) in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp. Previously she worked as a Researcher at igMIP project, a partnership between the University of Minho (Portugal) and Bosch Car Multimedia (2016–2017). She has published her work at reputable international peer-reviewed journals as well as several book chapters.


Ana's research interests cover several areas within marketing communications and public relations. The first focus is on how online reviews and webcare – (managerial responses to online reviews) are processed and influence behaviour and business. The most recent research interest is related to the social responsibility of organizations and how it can benefit society by leading to sustainable consumption.
