Personal information

I studied Medicine at University of Passo Fundo in Southern Brazil. After my graduation in 2005, I undertook three years of residency in Family Medicine at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. In 2011, I earned my master’s degree in Epidemiology from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) after studying the reliability and performance of questionnaires used to evaluate adherence to hypertensive treatment. Then, I started working as faculty at the Department of Public Health of the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) until 2016. I also used to share my time working as Family Physician at the Brazilian Public Health System and at the Telemedicine Government Program supporting clinical decision making by physicians at primary care. Since August 2016, I am living in Amsterdam with my partner where we were very welcomed. In the meantime, I worked on my PhD thesis, which I successfully defended in June 2017 at the Postgraduate Program in Epidemiology UFGRS. The focus of my thesis was to perform an economic evaluation of Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Strategies at Public Health System. To flourish on the cost-effectiveness topic, I attended the Economic Evaluation course coordinated by Dr. Judith Bosmans at Vrije Universiteit in 2016. Now, I am delighted to work with Dr. Judith on a project about the impact of the different EQ-5D-5L valuation methods in cost-effectiveness analysis.
