Personal information

Anna is currently a PhD candidate and lecturer at VU Amsterdam's Athena Institute. In her research, she analyzes the changing relations between science and society using a systemic approach. She specifically focuses on the role(s) of universities and their entanglement in wider institutional, political, economic and historical contexts, exploring how universities and their employees navigate their own positionality and questions of power in efforts to democratize science.

Besides her doctoral research, Anna frequently teaches various BSc-level and MSc-level courses such as Science Communication, Science Journalism and Science in Dialogue. Since November 2024, she has also been involved in the VU PhD Council as a general member.
