Personal information

I work as Lecturer in Academic English for the ALP, teaching academic writing in a range of courses. Meanwhile, I also conduct research in Film, Television and Media studies.

I teach academic English writing to students at the VU on various levels - from first year undergraduate to post-graduate courses. I've also taught academic English to the University's Foundation Year (VASVU) students.

My research interests include the translation of audiovisual media and transcultural aspects of media texts, especially comedy. I have published and presented on transcultural/transnational comedy in a number of platforms, including the Journal of Animation Studies; annual SCMS, MeCCSA and BAFTSS conferences; and the recently published collection on Monty Python's Flying Circus, And Now for Something Completely Different.
