Personal information

As an associate professor in Sustainability and Governance at the Athena Institute, VU University Amsterdam, I explore in my research the relation between knowledge, power and society, notably in view of system transformative dynamics. Insight in interactive forms of knowledge production and participatory forms of public policy-making I translate into methodologically innovative designs for policy analysis and evaluation to help resolve wicked problems. Empirically, I focus on studying (and instigating) dynamics for transformative change towards a ‘responsible’ science system, climate adaptation, sustainable food and agriculture.
