Anoek is a PhD Candidate in the department of Environmental Economics of the Institute of Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She obtained her Bachelor degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences, with a major in Earth, Energy & Sustainability from Leiden University College, and did her master’s at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in Global Environmental Change & Policy. During her master thesis, she studied the role of hazard and vulnerability indicators in explaining differences between Dutch in the revenue impacts of extreme weather events among Dutch arable farmers.

Her PhD research is part of the ACCREU project, funded by HORIZON Europe RIA, which focusses on the economic assessment of climate change impacts and adaptation strategies. Her PhD focusses on incorporating a broader wellbeing perspective in the economic appraisal of different flood adaptation strategies.
