Cecilia Zagaria is a PhD researcher in the Environmental Geography department of the IVM. Her current research focuses on modelling and assessing drivers and impacts of land use change in Europe by means of agent-based modelling, under the supervision of Prof. Peter Verburg and Dr. Nynke Schulp. Prior to employment within the group, Cecilia focused her academic training on exploring spatial dynamics of land use change and ecosystem service provision. Her MSc thesis involved modelling the potential of sustainable land management practices in fostering priority ecosystem service provision for the development of climate adaptation strategies at the regional level. Further work has involved researching and conducting fieldwork in the mapping of community values for cultural ecosystem services.
