Charlotte Rappel is a Lecturer at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Davis. Wanting to explore the interdisciplinary social side of environmental sciences, she continued her continued her studies with a research-based master program in Global Environmental Change and Policy at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. There she specialised in ecosystem services and governance. Her master thesis focused on urban expansion and land-use conflicts in Ghana. Currently, Charlotte works at IVM’s Environmental Policy & Analysis department where she teaches both bachelor and master level students.
