Personal information

I am a Post-Doctoral researcher working in the EU Horizon 2020 project LINKS (Strengthening links between technologies and society for European disaster resilience). I am leading Work Packages 5 and 6 which are focused respectively on the development of the LINKS Framework and on the evaluation of the Framework in four European countries. 

I hold a PhD in Sociology and Methodology of Social Research (Catholic University, Milan, Italy). I have previously worked as a researcher and adjunct professor of Risk and Crisis Management at the Catholic University of Milan (Department of Sociology), and more recently, as a Project Officer (Scientific Research) at the Joint Research Centre (JRC, Ispra, Italy) of the European Commission.

My research interests include crisis management, disaster governance and surveillance studies. Specifically, I have extensive experience as a researcher, sub-project and work package leader in European funded projects revolving around  disaster resilience, innovation in crisis management, security and terrorism, the impact of surveillance technologies on society.    

In 2020 I was appointed co-director of the Surveillance Studies Network
