Ciska Ulug recently completed her PhD at the University of Groningen, where she focused on the role of community-based food collectives for sustainable food systems. Her main research interests revolve around (food system) sustainability, community initiatives, and (more generally) the role of citizen action for sustainable societies. Her theoretical interests include community and diverse economies, social innovation, and social practice theory. She especially likes to explore the above through ethnographic, participatory, and creative methods.
Currently, Ciska is researching inclusive conservation in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, as a part of the international project, ENVISION.
