Cornelia Fast is a Junior Researcher in the department of Environmental Policy Analysis (EPA) of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She has a master in Political Science – Global Environmental Governance from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, which focused on various environmental issues and how to govern them through the challenging political landscape. Moreover, her Bachelor’s in Political Science was gained from Stockholm University and included environmental studies in Hong Kong SAR at City University of Hong Kong. Her MSc thesis was designated towards explaining why companies engage in climate change initiatives in Sweden and whether certain firm-level factors can explain this participation.
Currently, Cornelia Fast works for the research project Action for Climate Transformation in Sweden (ACTS), which is a partnership between Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Stockholm University and Linköping University. The project has set out the task to map, assess and explain non-state action within Sweden’s transformation to a welfare state that is free from the use of fossil fuels. In addition, she has a strong interest in environmental policy, how it is constructed and implemented.
