Teaching

At Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam I teach a bachelor course in history of mathematics (FEW_X_400652) and a bachelor course in history of computing (FEW_X_400318). Furthermore I teach a master seminar in history of science (FEW_X_400424) for those who want more. In cooperation with Gerard Alberts I also teach in several courses at the University of Amsterdam.

Research

My research focusses on the history of mathematics education and history of mathematical societies. Currently I am writing a double biography of Hans and Susan Freudenthal. Moreover I am actively involved in a subject that is touching upon both history of computing and history of education: the application of programmed instruction in education, 1945-1975.
