Personal profile
Personal information
Derk van Ree is a part-time PhD student in the department of Environmental Economics of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He retired in October 2023 as employee of Deltares in Delft, the Netherlands. He is performing a PhD research project on the Sustainable Development and Management of the Shallow (defined as up to 500 metres of depth) Subsurface. The aim is to develop an integrated management framework for the sustainable use of the shallow subsurface in the (predominantly) urban environment. The project is supervised by Prof. M.W. Hofkes at IVM.
Expertise
Derk van Ree is a senior specialist in the environmental field related to soil and groundwater issues including environmental impact assessment and sustainable development of the subsurface.
