During my studies I got fascinated by the complex effect of our genome and our environment on the human brain. Several genetic and environmental factors, in independence or in interaction, can increase the risk of developing psychiatric disorders. Some psychiatric symptoms are also associated with structural and functional aberrations of the connections in the brain, the so-called connectome. During my PhD I integrate genetic and environmental data to study the human connectome and its relation to psychiatric disorders.
