Eric Beutner is full professor at the department of Econometrics and Data Science of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Before joining Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2019, he was affiliated to the Maastricht University. He obtained his PhD at RWTH Aachen in 2005. From 2019 until 2025 he served as programme director of the BSc Econometrics and Operations Research and the BSc Econometrics and Data Science. From 2019 until 2022 he also served as programme director of the MSc Econometrics and Operations Research. He currently fulfils editorial duties at Computational Statistics & Data Analysis, Computational Statistics, Econometrics and Statistics as well as at Mathematical Methods of Statistics.
