Floris Leijten is an industrial PhD student based at Unilever with a dual appointment within the Environmental Geography Group at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM). His research is part of the COUPLED project (coupled-itn.eu) and focuses on the effectiveness of (corporate) zero-deforestation commitments. More specifically, his research aims to reveal how the corporate zero-deforestation commitments are playing out on the global landscape, using state-of-the-art econometric techniques. In addition, he has a strong interest in the use of computable general equilibrium models to assess the direction and magnitude of market-mediated spillover effects.
Floris holds a MSc in Environmental Economics & Climate Change from the London School of Economics and a BSc in Earth Sciences & Economics from VU Amsterdam.
