Dr. Ilona Persoon is an assistant professor in the department of Preventive Dentistry at the Academic Centre of Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA). Currently, her main focus is on infection control and sustainable oral health care in all three pillars of ACTA: providing oral health care, teaching dentistry students and performing research. Also, she is working as a dentist in a general dental practice in Loosdrecht.
Dr. Persoon obtained her MSc on Dentistry with honours at ACTA in 2010. She obtained her PhD on root canal infections at the University of Amsterdam in 2016 and her Senior Teaching Qualification (SKO) in 2023.
