Research

Irma Lammers is a PhD student at the Amsterdam Centre for Migration and Refugee Law under the supervision of prof. dr. Betty de Hart, prof. dr. Hemme Battjes, and dr. Ioana Vrăbiescu. Their research focuses on the politics of emotion in asylum in the Netherland, asking how asylum law is shaped affectively through the everyday practices of immigration officers and NGO workers. Prior to their PhD, Irma worked in legal advocay for illegalized migrants in the Netherlands.
