Jakob is a PhD Candidate in the department of Environmental Geography at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM). He obtained his Master’s degree Global Change Ecology at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. During his studies he focused on modelling species’ vulnerability to current and future global threats such as climate or land use change.

Currently he works on finding and evaluating sustainable management practices for European forests that reconcile climate, biodiversity, societal and economic objectives. Overall, he aims at developing empirical models for nature conservation.
