Personal information

Janina Klein is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Change at the School of Business and Economics, Department Management and Organization. Janina obtained her PhD in Management from the University of Edinburgh Business School and holds a MLitt (Master) in International Business from the University of St Andrews. Her professional background is in consulting where she worked for more than ten years in various roles. Janinas responsibilities included organizational change management (M&As and reorganization programs), executive education and business development. Janina is a certified business coach. 

Research

Janina is passionate about understanding how organizations can contribute to resolving societal challenges and drive social change. Her research focusses on hybrid organizations and social enterprises which apply commercial strategies to create social value and in doing so experience unique organizing challenges. She is particularly interested in how these organizations experience organizational change and the role of design, identity and emotions in this context. Janina has investigated organizational change in a UK national charity and studied framing change in the European migration crisis.
