Personal information

I am a double PhD student at the Vrije Universiteit and Beihang University in Beijing, China, being supervised by Professor Alan Cienki (Language Use and Cognition) and Professor Fuyin Thomas Li (Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics). I am spending one and half years at the VU, supported by a grant from the China Scholarship Council. Before starting at Beihang University in 2015, I was a lecturer in Hubei Polytechnic University for eight years. I taught English Linguistics, English Teaching Methodology, English Stylistics, British and American Literature, and English Reading.

My research focus is cognitive semantics, the linguistic representation of causation, causative constructions, and event segmentation. My PhD dissertation is about telicity across languages, involving an empirical study of the linguistic representation of event segmentation for different types of causation in English and Mandarin.
