Personal information

Jacco Wielhouwer is professor of economics of accounting and tax at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (since 2013). He studied Econometrics (OR) at Tilburg University at which he got his PhD in Operations Research (2002). His research focusses on taxation and investments, disclosure, and compliance and enforcement of regulations. Since 2021 he is also the academic director of the postgraduate program on Compliance and Integrity Management.

Next to parttime academic activities, he held several senior (management) positions in financial industry (ING) and financial regulation (AFM).
