Johanna Englhardt has been a PhD student in the department of Water and Climate Risk of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam since September 2015. Her research aims on developing improved global flood risk estimates by improving the incorporation of vulnerability in large-scale flood risk models.
Prior to starting at the IVM, Johanna completed her MSc in Geography at the University of Bonn focusing on the field of hydrology and water resource management. During this period she worked at the Climate Monitoring and Attribution Group at the Hadley Centre as an intern for several months, as well as the Hydrology section of the GFZ Potsdam.
Flood damage modelling, risk assessment, climate change.
2015: MSc Geography (specialization in Global Change and Environmental Systems Research), Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn, Germany.
