Judith is a PhD Candidate in the department of Water and Climate Risk of the Institute of Environmental Studies (IVM). She earned her bachelor degrees in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the Amsterdam University College, where she conducted a study on cluster storms at the KNMI for her thesis. She continued her education at TU Delft in Civil Engineering: Water Management. As a research intern, she wrote her master’s thesis research at Deltares, working on a parametric model to predict tropical cyclone precipitation.

Her PhD research is part of the Horizon 2020 funded MYRIAD-EU project focused on Multi-hazards. The PhD focusses on modelling current and future multi-hazards using probabilistic methods. Judith also serves as chair for the Early Career Researcher board of the project.
