Personal profile

Personal information

Laura Dreissen is an assistant professor in the department of physics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). Her research focusses on precision quantum metrology and sensing for tests of fundamental physics. She received her PhD in 2020 with honours (cum-laude) and worked on a two-year Alexander von Humboldt post-doctoral fellowship at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Germany. She has successfully started her own research line at the VU with a NWO VENI grant, a NGF Quantum Technology grant and an ERC Starting Grant. Her long-term goal is to push the frontiers of physics with state-of-the-art quantum technology.
