Currently, I am working on my PhD project: Non-standard employment: prospect or precarity? In this project, I look at the effects of non-standard employment on the careers of these workers. First, I strive to create a typology of non-standard employment careers by using multichannel sequence analysis of both the labour market positions and incomes of workers. This typology will show the diversity of outcomes that non-standard employment can have on the careers of workers. Second, I will investigate which factors have an impact on the chance of having a certain career and which workers are most at risk of ending up in precarious careers. Furtheron in my project, I will investigate the effects of a return to education and the effects of failing a probation period on the careers of workers in non-standard employment.
My supervisors in this project are prof. dr. Harry Ganzeboom, prof. dr. Wendy Smits and dr. D. Pavlopoulos.
My PhD project is funded by a NWO Research talent grant (project nr. 406.16.541).
