Personal information

Marcos Jiménez (1995) is a research assistant at the department of Sociology. He has been a psychometrician at the Chair of Psychometric Models and Applications of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM; 2020-2022) and at the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering of Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC; 2022-2023). He has also worked as a freelance psychometrician (2024) for conducting psychometric test validations and developing norming scores.

Marcos was also professor at the International University of Business (UNIE; 2023-2025) and a substitute teacher at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM; 2024), where he taught graduate-level statistics.

Currenly, he is a research Assistant at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU; 2024-present).

Research

I develop open-source free statistical software for conducting Latent Variable Modeling. Concretely, I work in the implementation of high-performance psychometric software (e.g., Structural Equation Modeling, Item Response Theory, and Mixture Modeling).

My research also involves the development of algorithms to analyze large datasets with hierarchical structures (e.g., data that have different levels of organization or form clusters nested within others) using multivariate methods such as Factor Analysis.
