Research

Marin Coerts is a PhD researcher at the department of Constitutional and Administrative law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She is conducting empirical legal research (ELS) about performance obligations under the guidance of prof. mr. F.J. (Frank) van Ommeren en dr. mr. P.J. (Pim) Huisman. These performance obligations entail that governmental organizations are obligating private parties to execute licenses in a certain way. Using an ELS-approach, she analyzes the reasons for the government interfering and the consequences of interfering in concrete practices.
