Personal information

Marjolein is a lecturer within the Water and Climate Risk group for the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM). She obtained her teaching qualifications as a lecturer in Earth Sciences at Utrecht University, where she won Teaching Talent of the Year 2024 for the Faculty of Geosciences. At the VU she will be contributing to multiple fieldwork courses, and subjects spread across multiples disciplines (ES, Hydrology, ERM, AED and Earth Sciences).

Alongside her teaching, Marjolein is active in sharing science with the public through media and SciComm channels.
