Marta Buso is a PhD Candidate within the Environmental Economics group at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM). She obtained her Bachelor degree in Economics at the Università degli studi di Padova and pursued her interest in climate change and sustainability at the Università degli Studi di Torino and Politecnico of Turin, where she graduated in Environmental Economics. She completed also the Allievi Honors Program at Collegio Carlo Alberto in the track of Social and Political Sciences.
In her Master Thesis she implemented a survey experiment to assess whether anxious information about extreme events due to climate change and climate migration could boost people to support climate action. Currently, her PhD research focuses on the potential of carbon offsets to mitigate individual dietary emissions and how to increase people’s willingness to pay for them.
